I start with how the business actually works — who touches an
order, where it gets written down, what goes wrong most often —
and then build the least complicated thing that fixes it.
I deploy and maintain what I build. Kirana has
been running on an AWS EC2 instance behind nginx, supervised by
PM2, since I shipped it. I'm the one who gets the call when it
misbehaves. That's the part most people skip, and it's the part
that decides whether software is an asset or a liability.
Sometimes the right answer isn't custom software at all. Some of
my work is WordPress, because an owner who needs to change prices
on a Sunday night is better served by a tool they can operate than
a bespoke one they can't. And on the print platform I deliberately
left out online payments, because the shop invoices — that feature
would have been for my portfolio, not for them.
You own everything I build: domain, source code, database,
records. No retainer, no licence, no dependency on me.
